Finals Day 2016
Not the normal beautiful weather we have become accustomed to on recent Finals’ Days but acceptable! The usual flurry of activity and excited buzz was infectious though and even attracted a prospective new member!
The day was superbly arranged as usual by the tournament committee with fantastic refreshments provided by the Social Committee ably assisted by “Barbecue Chef”, Gordon!

Jamie beat his brother Michael in the Men’s singles final 6-4 6-3.

Kendra beat Antonia in the Ladies Singles final winning a great match 6-4 6-3.

Amber beat Bella in our mini-red girls singles final.
Jack won the three-way play off for the mini-red title beating Amber & Ben.
Who’d have thought an innocent little leaf could cause such trouble?!!
Nick and Liz beat Steve and Sal in the longest match of the day winning 5-7, 7-6, 7-6.
Jack beat Wimmy 7-0 8-6 in the mini-orange final.
Jacob beat Cameron 5-3 4-0 in the mini-green final.
Steve and Sarah retained their mixed veterans title against Anne and Bill. Sarah and Steve won the first set 6-3 and were 0-1 down in the second set when Bill unfortunately had to retire injured.
Nick and Michael beta Jamie and Graham in an excellent men’s doubles final. Mike and Nick won 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.
The ladies doubles final also went to three sets with Kath & Liz eventually beating Eila & Carolyn 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
An excellent boy’s final saw Rio beat Charlie 6-1, 4-6, 11-9.
Hannah H-G beat Hannah S in the girls’ singles final 6-2 6-4.
Steve & Ken beat Bill & Craig in the Men’s Vets final. Bill had to retire after Steve & Ken won the first set 6-3 and were 2-1 up in the second set.

Kath & Liz beat Sarah & Sal to retain their Ladies Veterans title.
Michael & Karina beat Sam and Eila 6-1 6-1 to retain their mixed doubles title.
