After our extremely wet summer, I'm pleased to say that the tournament committee did well to arrange some good weather for this year's finals day! Yet again Finals Day went very smoothly, we got to see some great tennis and then enjoyed an excellent barbecue. Many thanks go to Gilly for organising the catering, Ant and Liz for manning the barbecue, the tournament committee for arranging the play, Jim Rhind-Tutt for handing over the trophies and John for taking some great photos & being in the country to do so!!

P.S. After Liz's relaunch of the Riverside clothing range, please hurry to buy your new kit!!

As usual, an excellent crowd turned out to support the event.
Our new patio area and smartened-up lawn was a popular place to sit.

Keith continue his remarkable run of singles victories - this time defeating Guy.
Liezl beat Bronwen 6-1, 6-3 in a good ladies singles final.

Vets title and he is looking forward to building on his success!
The mixed drawn event yet again produced a good
final with Kay and Ken eventually beating Martin

An excellent men's doubles event was sucessfully retained by
Graham and Nick after a 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 win over Keith and Guy.
Philippa and Tricia retained their Vets ladies title with
a 6-3, 6-1 win over Liz and Mandy.

The mixed vets event produced a first title for Mike Bath
who was partnered by Jean in their 6-4, 6-2 win over the Bells.
The boys 8 & Under Event saw Tim beat Henry in a very
exciting semi-final 4-7, 7-5, 8-6. Jamie beat Tim 7-5, 7-3
in the final. The Girls Under 9 event saw Isabel beating
Megan 7-2, 7-5 in a game with many good rallies.

* Unfortunately the Ladies Doubles final was conceded to Kay and Bronwen following an injury to Gilly whilst playing a doubles final at Eastbourne.
* The boys 14 & under title was retained by Will who won a close match against Luke 6-3, 7-5.
* The girls 16 & under final was another extremely close match with Jodie beat Kristie 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.

The mixed doubles cup switches hands regularly and this year
was won 6-4, 6-2 by Nick and Carolyn who beat Kay and Keith
in a match which was far closer than the score suggests.
